Regional accreditation bodies have dutifully evaluated education providers on a regional scale and granted them Primary Accreditation. However, the rapid growth of globalization calls for a global entity that can evaluate them against internationally proven standards of education and grant them an internationally recognized Secondary Accreditation. EAHEA Legal Status

EAHEA is a non-governmental, independent, and international quality assurance, rating, and accreditation agency based in Europe working to improve quality assurance standards of educational organizations all over the world. Therefore it uses EU higher education regulations and directives when reviewing an applicant. In some cases, EAHEA can use the applicant country´s regulations, too. Also, EAHEA gets support from its local partner institutions (universities, state agencies, associations, etc.) when accrediting a course/program that has a curriculum.

EAHEA was an association (non-profit organization) that works only in the European Area between 1997-2018, but it has been obliged to change its legal entity for international taxation and billing regulations. Since 2018, EAHEA cooperate with different companies about international taxation, payment collection, invoicing, and customer services. On behalf of EAHEA, the payments collect and invoice by "Sunhill International", and customer services provide by "Engage Consulting".

EAHEA grants accreditation to educational institutes, vocational institutions, distance learning centers, online courses, and corporations, and certification to professionals, qualified individuals, instructors, and students. EAHEA can´t give any titles or degrees to the accredited institute´s students, or can´t give authorization about the diploma, work, opening an office, etc. Also, EAHEA does not control or oversee the documents, certificates, diplomas, titles, degrees, rights, and authorizations issued (given) by the accredited institution. All rights and legal liabilities of these belong to the institution that carries out the transaction. EAHEA periodically checks the educational quality of the institution and the up-to-dateness of the curriculum of the course/program and reports to the relevant institution.
