VALIDATION REGULATIONS

Regulations for The Validation of Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates

These regulations are established to ensure the integrity of the European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation and all the services provided. These regulations are meant to be effective and their interpretation is based on the assumption of ethical values, integrity, and a non-profit spirit from each of the members of the European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation.

These premises may evolve to address new situations or services upon a proposal from the members of the European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation. Proposals will be accepted by the President from individuals or groups, including students, staff, faculty, members of the general public, governmental agencies, and other institutions or organizations. The President reviews any proposal and acknowledges its responsibility to provide a reasonable and impartial review. Proposals should be sent to the EAHEA Secretary.

1. Regulations for The Validation of Degrees and Diplomas

1.1. Definition of The Degree Validation Diplomas:

The degree validation document will certify the credit and degree equivalency of any certification earned at any of the European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation accredited institutions or at institutions holding an equivalent accreditation. This degree validation document will also endorse the external quality review of the degree, institution, and program of study. This degree validation document service is intended to facilitate the acceptance of the degrees and credits earned from European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation accredited institutions. The EAHEA degree validation documents can not guarantee automatic acceptance of the degrees and credits validated at other institutions or the acceptance by employers. The acceptance of the degree validation document is always the prerogative of the receiving institution or employer.

1.2. Content of The Degree Validation Diplomas:

The degree validation document is an international certificate issued by the European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation that will state the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Verification of the diploma and specialization earned
  • Verification of the total credits corresponding to this diploma and specialization
  • Verification of the composition of the credit in hours of study
  • Certification of the credits equivalency to the European ECTS credits system
  • Certification of the credits equivalency to the US Semester credits system
  • Assurance that the awarding institution is meeting the EAHEA education quality standards
  • Recommendation for the global acceptance of the degrees and credits by employers, professional associations, other institutions, colleges, or universities

1.3. Eligibility & Procedures for Granting Degree Validation Diplomas:

The degree validation document may exclusively be issued to students who have completed a program of study in any of the European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation accredited institution while the accreditation status remains valid. The degree-granting institution must be listed in the European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation members list. To request this validation, the graduate must:

  • Go to the Online Application page and fill out the EAHEA Application Form for Degree Diploma Validation.
  • Attach a copy of the diploma and transcript to validate.
  • Pay the validation fee. There are no refunds for this fee.

This process may be handled directly by the accredited institutions. In this case, the institution may establish different fees in accordance with the EAHEA Secretary.

1.4. Legalization of the Degree Validation Diploma:

The EAHEA Validation Services may be legalized the "Degree Validation Diploma" with the Hague Convention Apostille or with a Consulate Legalization as appropriate. The EAHEA Secretary may take care of the corresponding legalization process. The EAHEA Secretary may use or hire the necessary agents or intermediaries required to complete the legalization process of any of EAHEA Validation Services. To order any legalization the applicant must send a request in writing to the EAHEA Secretary. The EAHEA Secretary will estimate a legalization budget (depending on the country´s legalization requirements) and communicate this to the applicant. All the fees required for the legalization process will be paid in advance to the EAHEA Secretary and are not subject to any refund.


2. Regulations for The Validation of Certificates

2.1. Definition of The Certificate Validation Document:

The certificate validation document will certify the credit and specialization equivalency of any certification earned at any of the European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation accredited institutions or at institutions holding an equivalent accreditation. This certificate validation document will also endorse the external quality review of the specialization, institution, and program of study. This certificate validation document service is intended to facilitate the acceptance of the specialization and credits earned from European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation accredited institutions. The EAHEA certificate validation documents can not guarantee automatic acceptance of the specialization and credits validated at other institutions or the acceptance by employers. The acceptance of the certificate validation documents is always the prerogative of the receiving institution or employer.

2.2. Content of The Certificate Validation Document:

The certificate validation document is an international document issued by the European Agency For Higher Education and Accreditation that will state the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Verification of the certificate and specialization earned
  • Verification of the total credits corresponding to this certificate and specialization
  • Verification of the composition of the credit in hours of study
  • Certification of the credits equivalency
  • Assurance that the educational institution is meeting the EAHEA education quality standards
  • Recommendation for the global acceptance of the specializations and credits by employers, professional associations, other institutions, colleges, or universities
