This Cookie Policy forms part of our Privacy Policy. It explains which cookies and similar technologies the EAHEA website uses, why we use them, and how you can restrict or delete them.
What Is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It lets the website remember your actions and settings for a limited time. Similar technologies, such as the session storage of your browser, work in the same way and are covered by this policy.
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay in your browser until they expire or until you delete them.
How We Use Cookies
We use the cookies a website of this kind needs to work, and the cookies of the services you choose to use, such as the language of the page or a video. Cookies for analytics and advertising are different: Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta pixel set cookies and collect data only if you choose Accept All in the cookie notice. If you choose Necessary Only, none of these services is loaded. We do not sell your personal data.
The statistics of our website are counted on our own server. They do not use cookies, they do not store your IP address, and they use a visitor code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. Statistics records are kept for 12 months.
Cookies Set by Our Website
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| SUNMVC | Strictly necessary. Keeps your session and protects forms against forgery. It is also used to remember the country you choose when you apply and to keep you signed in to our online services. | Up to 30 days |
| eah_notice | Strictly necessary. Remembers that you have seen the cookie notice, so it is not shown again. | 1 year |
| eah_consent | Strictly necessary. Remembers whether you accepted or declined the analytics and advertising cookies, so your choice is respected on every visit. | 1 year |
| googtrans | Functional. Set only when you choose a language other than English. Remembers your choice, so the page is translated when you return. | 1 year |
Cookies and Storage of Other Services
Cloudflare. Our website is delivered and protected by Cloudflare. Cloudflare and its Turnstile security check may set cookies that protect the website against abuse and automated traffic, and that tell Cloudflare whether you are a real visitor. They are strictly necessary for the security of our forms and online services. See the Cloudflare Cookie Policy.
Stripe. When you pay by card, you are taken to a payment page of Stripe. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process the payment and to prevent fraud. We never see or store your card data. See the Stripe Cookie Policy.
YouTube. Videos are not loaded when a page opens. A video is loaded from the privacy enhanced mode of YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) only when you press play. From that moment YouTube may set cookies and receive your IP address. See the Google Cookie Policy.
Google Translate. The page is not sent to Google until you choose a language. When you do, the translation service of Google is loaded, and Google may set cookies and receive your IP address. The English text is the official version of our website. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Tawcu. The contact buttons of our website (chat and messaging shortcuts) are provided by Tawcu (www.tawcu.com), a company based in Estonia. The buttons load a script and style files from Tawcu, and Tawcu receives the address of the page you are viewing and the usual technical data of your browser (for example your IP address) when the buttons are loaded and used. The widget stores small cookies in your browser, with names starting with twcmenuClosed and twcprmptClosed, to remember that you closed its menu or message, and it may keep the data of a conversation in the session storage of your browser until you close the tab. Its font style sheet is loaded from Google Fonts. When you use a button to open WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram or another service, you leave our website and the privacy policy of that service applies.
Google Analytics. If you choose Accept All, Google Analytics measures how the website is used: which pages are viewed, how visitors reach the website, and which device, browser and country they use. It sets cookies in your browser (their names start with _ga) and sends the data to Google, which may process it outside the European Economic Area. We use the results to understand and improve the website. See the Google Cookie Policy.
Google Ads. If you choose Accept All, Google Ads measures the results of our advertising on Google and may be used to show our advertisements to visitors of the website. It sets cookies in your browser (for example _gcl_au) and receives the data that is needed for this purpose. When a payment is completed, the amount, the currency and a transaction reference are sent to Google Ads and Google Analytics to measure the result of our advertising; your name and contact details are not sent. See the Google advertising policy.
Meta pixel. If you choose Accept All, the Meta pixel of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited measures the results of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and may be used to show our advertisements to visitors of the website. It sets cookies in your browser (for example _fbp) and sends the pages you view and, when a payment is completed, its amount and currency to Meta. See the Meta Privacy Policy and the Meta Cookies Policy.
Social media and external links. The links to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Spotify in the footer are ordinary links. They set no cookies until you open them.
Your Choices
You decide on analytics and advertising cookies in the cookie notice. If you choose Necessary Only, Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta pixel are not loaded. You can change your choice at any time: delete the cookies of this website in your browser, and the notice is shown again at your next visit.
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off in our system, because the website, the forms and the payment would not work without them. You can block or delete any cookie in the settings of your browser. If you block all cookies, parts of the website, such as applications, payments and the language choice, may stop working.
