Accreditation, Certification, Validation and Membership
EAHEA accreditation is a voluntary, non-governmental peer review process. EAHEA is not a government body, a ministry, a regulator or a licensing authority. EAHEA accreditation, certification, validation and membership do not grant degree-awarding powers, are not a license to operate, to practice a profession or to teach, and are not a guarantee of the quality, outcomes, employability or recognition of any program, service or qualification.
Membership is not accreditation. Associate, Affiliate and Observer Membership do not mean that the member, its programs or its qualifications are accredited by EAHEA. A status applies only to the institution, program, level and dates shown in the EAHEA Verification Directory.
The Doctor of Excellence is an honorary professional recognition, not an academic degree and not an earned academic or research doctorate. EAHEA Degree Validation, Academic Credits Certificates and Academic Equivalency Statements confirm what EAHEA found in the documents submitted on the date of issue. They are not an official or government recognition or equivalence of a qualification, and they do not replace the decision of an employer, a university, a ministry or any other authority, which decide for themselves whether to accept them.
EAHEA does not set the tuition fees, prices, promises or advertising of the institutions it accredits, does not control them, and does not endorse them. An advertisement, a price, a discount or a promotion of an institution is not an offer or a guarantee of EAHEA. EAHEA is not a party to the contract between an institution or a member and its students or customers and does not mediate their disputes. Before you enrol or buy, please check the status and the scope of the institution in the EAHEA Verification Directory at www.eahea.org. If you see an advertisement that misuses the EAHEA name or accreditation, or a claim that seems misleading, please tell us at [email protected].
Sanctions Compliance
EAHEA is a legal entity registered in Estonia and is directly subject to the law of the European Union, the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the Estonian International Sanctions Act (Rahvusvaheliste sanktsioonide seadus). For this reason EAHEA cannot provide its services to high-risk and prohibited countries and territories that are subject to severe sanctions and full embargoes, nor to institutions, organizations or persons that are located in them, act for them, or are themselves subject to sanctions. EAHEA may refuse, suspend or end a service for this reason. Information on this website is not an offer of a service to anyone who is not allowed to receive it.
Verification Directory
The Verification Directory shows the status of institutions, members and certified persons as recorded by EAHEA on the date you look at it. A status can change (for example it may expire, be suspended or be revoked). The directory is the authoritative source of the EAHEA status; a certificate, a copy, a screenshot or a statement of the institution or the member is not. Part of the information in a record is provided by the institution or the person concerned. Records are not a complete list of the members of EAHEA and are not a ranking.
Privacy Notice
You have the right to know when your personal data is processed by any organization, including EAHEA, and to know the details and the purpose of that processing. The EAHEA website is our most important communication tool. Some of the services offered on our website, such as applications, payments and contact forms, require the processing of your personal data.
EAHEA is committed to user privacy. Translation Disclaimer
The EAHEA website language translation service uses translation software powered by Google Translate. The page is not sent to Google until you choose a language; when you do, Google loads the translation service, may set cookies and receives the text of the page and your IP address. EAHEA grants accreditation to educational institutes, vocational institutions, distance learning centers, online courses and corporations, and grants certification to professionals, qualified individuals, instructors and students, and admits members in the categories of its membership. EAHEA does not award titles or degrees to the students of an accredited institute and cannot authorize a diploma, employment, the opening of an office or similar matters. EAHEA does not control or oversee the documents, certificates, diplomas, titles, degrees, rights and authorizations issued by the accredited institution; all rights and legal liabilities connected with them belong to the institution that carries out the transaction. EAHEA periodically checks the educational quality of the institution and the up-to-date curriculum of the course/program and reports to the relevant institution.
EAHEA is a registered European Union trademark (EUIPO) and operates internationally as a non-governmental, private and independent accreditation, certification, quality assurance and rating association in the field of higher education. EAHEA has no direct relationship with the European Union, its Member States or its institutions, and does not operate as a sub-institution (or any other legal entity) of them. All directives and regulations on this website belong to EAHEA and have been created by examining the higher education systems of developed countries.
